The Havens Family Portland Portrait Session

I love this sweet family.  I have known Meghan and Andrew for almost 10 years.  Back then they were just sweethearts and now they have this beautiful family together.  In these photos they have just their two dear boys, but now they have three kids!  Meghan gave birth to a darling girl named Clementine in September.  Is that not the cutest name in the history of names?  To say I'm looking forward to photographing this family of five would be an understatement.

When looking at these photographs, I'm reminded how precious it is to be able to have photographs of your kids to remember their littleness.  A photograph can quickly transport you back to the way they felt when you held them, the impossible softness of their skin, the way their voice said mama.  I'm a firm believer that family photographs help me appreciate my greatest treasure on earth.  Seeing a picture of my family fills me to the brim with gratitude.  And another thing I'm grateful for: being able to document families like this one.

Erin and Henk's Mt. Hood Organic Farms Wedding on Film

Erin and Henk are two incredibly special people, and their intimate Mt. Hood Organic Farms wedding was a reflection of this love and warmth.  Their family and friends traveled from all over the world to be there to celebrate their growing family.  Henk and his family are from Germany, and they met when Erin's sister married Henk's brother.  Isn't that so neat?  Their love, kindness, and excitement for the future was palpable.  I absolutely love that I get to document weddings for people as lovely as this.

Mt. Hood Organic Farms is as perfect as it gets.  Imagine an apple orchard in the Gorge, views of Mt. Hood sprinkled with snow, pockets of wildflowers in abundant meadows, a reception hall with twinkle lights, little cottages linked with tiny gravel paths.  You guys, this is the stuff my dreams are made of.

It was an honor to work with this dream team: Mt. Hood Organic Farms, Cultivate CateringLucy's Informal Flowers, Fleur CakesXtabay Vintage Bridal Boutique, Mandolin by Jan DeWeese, Hair by Jessi Knight

Cheers... or rather, Prost! to Erin and Henk.

Liz and Mike's Oregon Coast Maternity Session on Film

Liz and Mike travelled to Oregon from California to shoot their maternity portraits at the Coast.  In true Oregon Coast tradition, the weather was moody and misty, and absolutely wonderful.  I love the sweetness of these maternity photos.  There is a calmness to the process (pregnancy is definitely a marathon and not a sprint) you know you're being transformed and you're embracing and welcoming the future.  Ahh, what a lucky little guy to have Liz and Mike as his parents!

Justine and Eric's Ace Hotel Downtown Portland Engagement Session on Film

Eric and Justine wanted their engagement session to feel like a relaxed date in their favorite PNW city, Portland.  We started off at the Stumptown Coffee for a latte and NY Times crossword puzzle and then walked over to the Ace Hotel's cozy lobby to take some more photos.  The Ace hotel lobby has a photo booth which is an absolute must if you're out and about in downtown Portland.  I love this engagement session for so many reasons.  Not only are Eric and Justine absolutely adorable, but their whole session felt so cozy and special.  Happy fall, you guys!

Brittany and Jason's Washington Gorge Holiday Session on Film

I shot Brittany and Jason's holiday photos at St. Cloud Wayside in the Gorge on the Washington side.  Brittany is an incredible film photographer, insane go-getter (MPH student), animal lover (see her cute pup Emmy Lou below!), and one of the absolute sweetest people you'll ever meet.  St. Cloud's is an old apple orchard.  In the fall you'll find fallen apples, crispy leaves, swaths of mist, and a dreamy view of the Gorge and Columbia River.  The perfect place to capture fall in the Pacific Northwest.
